Mahabharata (3 vol set) + Valmiki’s Ramayana (6 vol set)

The Mahabharat and the Ramayana are considered the greatest epics of ancient India.

The Mahabharata is a multifaceted story with numerous characters and infinite learning. It speaks of the battle of Kurukshetra fought between two cousin clans, the Pandavas and the Kauravas, for the throne of Hastinapura, and the events leading up to it. The stories of the Mahabharata are full of twists and turns, replete with action, romance, betrayal, brotherhood, and more. Our retelling of Veda Vyasa’s magnum opus has been divided into three volumes; the first volume describes the lineage of the Kuru princes and their childhood, the second volume looks at the crucial events that triggered the Pandava’s exile, and the final volume sets up the great Kurukshetra war and the events that unfolded over the 18 days it was fought.

Valmiki’s Ramayana is the story of Rama, prince of Ayodhya and the seventh incarnation of Lord Vishnu. Amar Chitra Katha’s award-winning version spans 960 pages across six volumes, with stunning illustrations that bring Valmiki’s words to life in splendid tones. The story of Rama’s childhood, his exile, Sita’s abduction, Hanuman’s devotion, and Ravana’s eventual death at the hands of the Ayodhya prince form a heroic tale that teaches numerous values.

Children not only learn about duty and honour, and the fight between good and evil, but also actively develop their own imagination and vocabulary. Our scripts have been extensively researched using multiple sources to provide the most accurate representation of the story. Illustrated in the classic Amar Chitra Katha style, both these collections help children grasp the complex storylines much faster while getting adults to revisit their childhood when their elders narrated these very stories to them.
